Get up to speed on Ableton Live 11's new key features! Traditionally many producers and engineers would lean into a different DAW like Pro Tools for comping vocals or other instruments - "comping" is short for "compositing" or "compiling" which refers to creating a single composite track using the best bits/sections of multiple takes/recordings. Now that Live 11 has this powerful feature, users can streamline their comping process with speed and ease without ever needing another DAW.
MIDI Polyphonic Expression or MPE has also been added, which puts your MPE-enabled synths like Live's Wavetable or Xfer Records Serum into overdrive - allowing you to reach into each note of your chords and modulate synths components independently. This lets you bring out organic, lifelike, or downright insane or wonky amounts of expressiveness from your sound design.
