In this set of videos we’ll take a deep look at how the Ableton Sampler device works. Sampler is one of two software sampler instruments developed by Ableton - the other is called Simpler. While sampling traditionally allows you to store audio recordings (like keystrokes from a piano, chords from a guitar, or 808 bass drum one-shots, etc.) and assign them to keys on a keyboard for playback, Ableton’s Sampler has a lot of features that enable easy sound mangling and manipulation. You can sweep the pitch of sounds, modulate and overdrive the built-in filter, loop bits of audio, and much more. You’ll learn all about these powerful features in the following lessons.
