Bass music is a term used for describing a sound that emerged in the UK in the early 2000's and was popularized by artists like Skream, Benga, and Rusko. Then, in the early 2010's, Sonny Moore (i.e. Skrillex) evolved bass music (and sound design in general) with his landmark EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Inspired by artists like Daft Punk, Justice, Autechre, and Aphex Twin, Skrillex and many other artists have continued to push the boundaries of dance music and sound design through many styles including bass-heavy music and the techniques they've developed have spread through countless genres. In this course, you'll get first hand experience learning bass music techniques by piecing a song together with talented electronic musician, Encanti. Lot's of useful techniques are covered here from synth and bass sound design to multi-band dynamics and automation, and much more. No matter what genre you naturally gravitate toward when creating music, the elements and techniques from these lessons can provide you with new insights and creative ideas for your own projects.
