When you're producing music, you want to be deliberate about the quality of the sound you're creating. Sometimes you want your music to sound pristine clean - other times, you want to sound dirty or saturated. As a producer in the digital world, that's just one reason to understand "aliasing" - an effect that occurs when processing signals which often leads to unwanted distortion or artifacts in the sound. In conjunction to aliasing, many plugin developers are adding "oversampling" features to your favorite plugins and tools to reduce aliasing so that you can be more deliberate about your sound quality. In this course, we're going to break down these concepts in a simple, easy-to-understand way so that you can get back to making great, high quality music with a deeper understanding of digital signals and the sonic artifacts that can pollute your sound.
